Registration of Jajo (Acc#28) Small Pod Hot Pepper (<i>Capsicum frutescens </i>L.) Variety for Kelem Wollega and West Wollega Zones, Western Oromia

Jajo is a common name given for small pod hot pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) variety with accession of Acc#28. It selected out local collection done during 2013 from West Wollega and Kellem Wolleg zones released by Haro Sabu Agricultural Research Center production in Zones Oromia, Ethiopia similar agro- ecologies 2021. In multi-location trial, gave mean dry yield 1225.78kgha-1. performed better than the standard check, Dinsire, which 1010.65kgha-1 yield. On farmers’ fields 1048.83 kgha-1 was recorded Jajo. sparse growth habit up right orientation. light green at maturity red color r used market use domestic consumption. Yield stability study showed that stable test locations requires favorable environments good also moderately to major disease (anthracnose cercospora leaf spot) insect pest. The breeder seed maintained different research purposes.
